My website
After undergrad, I wanted to understand better the real-life needs of the communities I could eventually work with in a therapeutic setting, so I became a social worker. I spent time working with a wide variety of clients, including those who experienced severe medical and mental health struggles, disabilities, learning differences, poverty, etc. I also worked with their families to repair ruptures in relationships that had been strained by their circumstances. This experience solidified for me the need to approach therapy as a tool to help clients co-create healthy, functioning systems within themselves and their world.
I have seen firsthand the impact that can be made when there is someone to listen and guide us through some of the most trying and overwhelming moments of our lives. This is one of the many reasons I am passionate about doing trauma, religious trauma, anxiety, and parenting work. My approach is caringly direct with gentle challenges to reframe thinking.
I believe life is a practice of continual growth and change to become our ideal selves in and out of relationship with others. To do that, we need a support system that allows space to learn new coping skills. Together, we can navigate healing, boundary setting and improved communication.
