Tia Coleman is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor who has dreamed of being a counselor since the age of ten, after trying to play peacemaker between her sister and cousin during a family trip to Disney. A native of Mississippi, she earned her B.S. in Psychology from Jackson State University, where she was actively involved in several advocacy and leadership organizations, including Psychology at Work, Peer Educators, and Transfer Ambassadors. She went on to complete her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University.
During her graduate training, Tia gained experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults across a variety of settings. She draws on evidence-based practices such as CBT, ACT, and DBT to support her clients. Her approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a genuine belief in each person’s capacity for growth.
In addition to her clinical work, Tia serves as an advisor for NAMI’s Open Up Mississippi, where she partners with community leaders to expand mental health awareness and education. She is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals feel heard, valued, and empowered to work toward lasting well-being.
