My name is Jessica Amashta. I work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, and burnout related to work or school. I recognize that many factors may contribute to one's experience of mental health symptoms and am not going to apply a one-sized fits all approach to treatment. I value hearing about my clients' individual goals such as symptom reduction or living a more well-balanced life. Most recently, a lot of the clients I work with want to find a healthy balance between their stressful work lives and their personal lives.
I employ a person-centered approach in which clients are encouraged to be their authentic selves and feel safe to share whatever feels most comfortable to them. I utilize a trauma-informed lens and aim to build rapport with clients right from the start. I prioritize providing clients with tools to navigate stressors and manage symptoms as best they can.
I recognize that starting therapy is difficult, whether it's your first time engaging in therapy or you've met with a therapist in the past. For this reason, I am grateful to be considered as someone who may be helpful. Ultimately, I hope that my clients walk away with a set of tools that improve their well-being and help them reach their goals.

I often use a combination of CBT, DBT, and ACT. I lean towards an intervention that feels most appropriate for clients' presenting concerns. I will provide psychoeducation early in treatment to discuss these concepts and sometimes assign homework so that clients can practice these skills outside of session.
