I've worked in the field for 26 years and providing EMDR for over 19. I specialize in treating unresolved trauma issues, as well as depression, stress and anxiety. Traumatic issues include childhood abuse (physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect), sexual assault (including military), crime/theft, car accidents, grief/loss, combat, first responders/medical professionals, veterans (including moral injury) and poor leadership. My experience has taught me that most of the time depression and anxiety are unresolved emotional wounds that haven't been fully addressed. When addressed those injuries will be resolved.
My focus is treating unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety and other issues with EMDR. My expertise in EMDR resulted in a 98 percent return to duty rate and no suicides at my duty station over a 5 and a half year period. My down to earth style has enabled me to help my clients heal from horrific experiences and to be able to truly enjoy life.
My passion is service. Therapy should not have to be a lifetime commitment. My focus is finding what works for you and helping you resolve the issue. This allows you to learn “how to” and become independent. I believe in the proverb “Give a person to fish, feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish, you feed them for a lifetime.'

The first session is a discussion to identify what you need. The second session focuses on coping skills and how EMDR works. The third session is focused on planning and developing skills with EMDR. I specialize in EMDR therapy. In the first session we discuss what brings you to therapy. In the next few session I teach coping skills specific with EMDR, what issues need to be addressed and what you should expect from this process. EMDR is an effective therapy that reduces emotional reactions to painful experiences and time in therapy.
