I appreciate the chance to help people find or regain meaning and fulfillment, manage stress, and live enthusiastically. Providing individual and group therapy, personality assessment, and physician/executive wellness. *Specialties: Clinical supervision for therapists, marital therapy for physician couples, social anxiety, OCD, generalized anxiety, depression, life transitions, sexual identity, gender identity, and relationship issues. It is important to address both the surface symptoms and core factors that cause your distress. My treatment approach is integrative.
I provide individual and group psychotherapy, testing, and coaching. From me you should expect clinical expertise, attentive listening, warmth, and respect. You should also expect candid and specific feedback - delivered in a straightforward yet respectful manner. Many of my patients are healthcare providers. I offer supervision and therapy for therapists.
I view the primary tasks of therapy as to: promote self-understanding, decode the meaning of symptoms (not just suppress them), increase well-being, and cultivate fulfilling, engaged relationships in life. Therapy requires honest self-reflection and hard work. Through psychotherapy, people often develop greater compassion for themselves and others.

Thomas E Thorsheim's Groups

Group Coaching for Healthcare Professionals

This is a long-term coaching group for healthcare professionals. The same strict requirements of privacy and confidentiality apply to this coaching group as to my therapy groups. Goals include enhancing resilience and stress management, improving self-care, developing emotional intelligence, navigating promotions, leadership development, and increasing skills in collaboration and conflict resolution. The group is designed to support the unique needs and demands of healthcare professionals, and the challenges this creates both at home and work. Care is taken to select group members from different locations and practices nationwide, to enhance privacy and to promote comfort sharing personal information.

Coaching & Supervision for Coaches and Therapists

Whether you are just 3-4 years into practice development, or a seasoned provider, this group is about supporting your whole being both as an individual and as an important change agent and facilitator in the lives of your clients. It is about enhancing your skills as an individual coach, therapist, or group leader, and supporting you in "walking your talk" in life.
