About
Thinking and feeling in ways that allow you to engage your daily life, others, and your personal goals with energy, creativity, and effectiveness is the thrust of my approach and practice. Identifying patterns that restrict cognitive and behavioral functioning, preventing understanding and integration of personal and interpersonal dynamics is a key focus. Increasing self awareness and understanding through enhancing mindfulness, expanding thinking about self and others, and developing behavior patterns that mobilize personal strengths, assets, and motivation is the goal of the work.
Problems with how we feel and function are addressed by altering thinking and behavior patterns, and developing new ones based on expanded understandings of self, others and the dynamics of our connections. I utilize a cognitive-behavioral approach, with a focus on identifying and communicating emotional states, with couples and individuals. Issues of mood, stress, relationships, and behavior, including addiction to substances, are areas of focus. The inherent spirituality of all is utilized and cultivated in this work.
Just reaching out and describing your understanding of the issues you face can be an exciting first step toward harnessing the process and dynamics of change. While problems can be overwhelming and the work difficult, the growth is exciting and inspiring. Let's get together and discuss what's going on.
