Hey! I'm Thomas, and I'd like to tell you a bit about myself as a therapist. I really enjoy working with children and young adults (8-18 years old) around anxiety, panic, stress, and major life transitions This usually looks like "behavioral outbursts," "refusal," "avoidance," or much more. I work in a collaborative process with children, families, and even school staff to work towards common goals for a child. I value working as a team to support the child's needs. I also value including and collaborating with your child to create goals for the therapeutic process.
In a session, I will use my training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). These are fancy words to describe a technique that revolves around identifying triggers, thoughts, emotions, and behavior. In DBT we we work on practical skills to practice to work on goals at home, school, or other environments.
