Theresa Bergold, LCSW, CASAC 2. Hello! My name is Theresa, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC2) in New York State. I have over a decade of experience working as a psychotherapist. I specialize in mental health issues, co-occurring disorders, trauma, and substance abuse. I'm trained in much evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-informed approaches. I hope to work with you to develop a treatment plan that is unique to you.
We will assess for any barriers and learn new ways to break through those barriers. Learning healthier skills to promote healing, post-traumatic growth, decrease stress, reduce anxiety, challenge negative thinking patterns or negative core beliefs, further your independence, improve self-esteem and increase self-love.
Therapy may also assist with strengthening your self-confidence, coping with symptoms, handling strong emotions like fear, grief or anger, and enhancing your problem-solving skills with the use of healthier coping skills. I am currently accepting new patients via Telehealth only.
