In today's world, societal expectations often shape our identities, leading to significant mental distress when we feel unable to meet these imposed standards. This struggle is particularly pronounced among minorities, who frequently encounter stereotypes and microaggressions that influence their beliefs and behaviors. I believe that true mental well-being begins when individuals embrace their authentic selves, allowing them to better manage external stressors.
As a therapist, my goal is to support clients in shedding the “masks” they wear and fostering personal awareness and vulnerability. My diverse clinical experience—from working in the Denver County Jail to the Children’s Hospital of Colorado—has equipped me with a broad understanding of mental health issues and effective treatment methods.
I am committed to providing not only empathy and a supportive listening ear but also to challenging clients to gain profound insights into their emotions and behaviors. As I often say, "Your comfort zone is a great place to visit, but it’s impossible for anything to grow there."
