I currently work with children, adolescents, families, couples, and individuals who are experiencing symptoms caused by relational and emotional challenges including depression, stress and anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, marital conflict, behavioral problems (e.g., irritability, defiance, oppositionality), academic performance, lack of motivation, anger management, hyperactivity, impulsivity, grief and loss, and family transitions (e.g., recent moves, separation, divorce, blended and step families, new born children).
I draw on the latest research findings in attachment theory; developmental neuroscience; regulation theory; and interpersonal neurobiology to assist children, adolescents, individuals and their families take advantage of brain plasticity to reduce the challenges that motivated them to seek counseling while repairing and improving important relationships in their lives.
My approach focuses on encouraging parents to focus on what might their children be communication through their "negative behavior" and provide "relational narratives" for parents to assist their children express the thoughts and feelings that are motivating their behavior, but that the child on their own is unable to express.
