The Wise Mind Institute (WMI) is a private practice therapy group offering personalized mental healthcare in the Bay Area and across California. Our team of highly trained clinicians provides a wide range of psychotherapy services grounded in both holistic practices and evidence-based approaches. Our clinicians have expertise and experience in psychodynamic, humanistic, and evidence-based therapies. We specialize in DBT, RO-DBT (Radically Open DBT), CBT, and mindfulness-based interventions, supporting teens, adults, couples, and families. We are in-network with Blue Shield of California. We offer both in-person and virtual therapy.
Our Team
You are the one everyone relies on. You notice what people need before they ask, and you have gotten good at not being a burden. What you have not figured out is how to let someone close without bracing for it.
Often this traces to a childhood you would call fine. Your parents did the best they could, and you still needed more validation, more attention to your needs, more attunement to your feelings than you received. Those early conclusions are still running. They surface now as a harsh inner critic and a guardedness with the people closest to you.
I help you get curious about them instead of obeying them.

Life can be challenging, even in the best of times. In the aftermath of COVID, many people are feeling the weight of increased isolation, depression, grief, burnout, and trauma. If you're struggling, please know you're not alone. I'm here to offer support and guidance as you navigate these difficulties.
My approach is flexible and personalized to meet your unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT, and Attachment Theory. For couples, I integrate DBT and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help deepen connection and strengthen your relationship.

I work with teens and adults who may be functioning well in certain areas but feel stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about how they want to live. You may be navigating a transition, questioning old patterns, or wondering why life feels hollow despite it seeming fine on paper. Others come in feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or intense emotions. Together, we can understand what is shaping your experience and create more freedom in how you respond to thoughts, emotions, relationships, and change.

I believe that early in life we develop ways to cope with difficult experiences and environmental situations that we couldn’t control and throughout life those cope mechanisms become reinforced. For many of us there comes a point where some of the ways that we learned to exist in the world no longer adaptively serve us. This is often a time we find ourselves in therapy. I want to help you gain insight into those patterns and develop new ways of being in order to make positive changes. These changes often come from both evidence-based tools and deeper reflections. Sometimes we find ourselves repeating the same patterns, wondering how to do things differently—even when we can't quite name why. My work is compassionate and trauma-informed, focused on anxiety, depression, OCD and related disorders, codependency, trauma, and relationship struggles. My primary lens is Internal Family Systems (IFS)—an approach that honors every part of you, even the ones that have been pushed away, and trusts that your core wisdom already holds what's needed to heal.

Do you find yourself feeling disconnected - in your relationships, your work, or even from yourself? Maybe you've checked a lot of boxes but still long for a life that feels more meaningful. In our work together, we’ll look beyond symptoms to identify ways in which beliefs about yourself and others are keeping you from experiencing life's abundance. As part of this work we will practice navigating life's inevitable ups and downs with humor, flexibility and grace.
