The Sexuality, Attachment and Trauma (SAT) Project is an association of therapists, based in NYC, that provides therapeutic intervention to help individuals with sexual and relationship difficulties and conducts research on the etiology and treatment of out of control relational and sexual behavior. The project includes Josh Wolf Powers, MBA, LCSW, Kelly Moylan, LCSW, and Andrew Erdman, LCSW. The project was founded by Michael Crocker, DSW, LCSW, who has twenty years experience in the field. Dr. Crocker holds a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and his dissertation focused on Out-of-Control Sexual Behavior and attachment disorders.
The SAT project staff are skilled in helping individuals overcome a variety of sexual problems, including: Out-of-Control Sexual Behavior, sexual dysfunction, intimacy anxiety, gender and orientation confusion, problematic and disturbing sexual thoughts and fantasies, problematic paraphilic and fetishistic behavior, LGBTQ issues, overcoming childhood sexual abuse, PTSD symptoms, depression, anxiety and attachment issues.

The group purpose is to enhance recovery from sexual addiction. The group psychotherapy process will focus on interpersonal behavior and communication; self-esteem development; and tolerance of intense emotions and anxiety, which are triggers for acting out behavior. This group will provide a safe setting for group members to gain interpersonal skills and emotional mastery while continuing their work in their personal recovery process.

Partners of Individuals in Recovery From Addiction

Partners of individuals in recovery from addiction struggle with a myriad of challenges. They often experience symptoms of trauma related to shock of the discovery of their partners addiction, fear of the partner's potential for relapse and overall acute stress response to feelings of being betrayed. We provide a safe place to explore feelings and process grief associated with your partner's addiction. Partners experience severe grief about the history of their relationships and no longer knowing what to believe about what has transpired in their relationships. This group allows partners to experience the restoration of trust and hope.
