Human beings are born with a desire to be seen, witnessed, and engaged in determining their life path. Yet, loneliness, identity struggles, and shame alienate us from our authentic self. My passion is supporting clients as they uncover their real self, their original self before shame and trauma, and find ways that feel authentic for healing and moving forward in life. I am interested in supporting the whole person – emotional, developmental, and life-transitions.
My master's in counseling is from Johns Hopkins University. I speak Arabic and English. I have 18 years of experience working with children and families in varies settings. I have been working with clients in mental health and substance abuse hospitals. I have training in sand and play therapy.
My philosophy is that clients are able to reclaim alienated parts of themselves, the inner child that has been hurt, when the counseling relationship feels safe, when there is both quiet listening and non-judgmental support, empowering feedback, and an experience of collaboration with the therapist. We work on your goals, at your pace.
