Hi! I'm Dr. April Watkins but most of my clients refer to me as April. I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to make positive changes in their lives....whatever that looks like for them. Many individuals I see struggle with some form of anxiety or depression but how this presents is so different for each person. I focus on providing evidence based treatment but tailor it to the individual and their own experiences and needs. My experience has shown me that people do not fit neatly into a "category" and clients' perception of their progress is most important.

It takes a significant amount of courage to look at yourself; your real self. Thank you for being here and for being willing to open up your world to endless possibilities of wellness. I have worked with all ages with issues related to anxiety, depression, grief, and anger. At the very least, I want you to know that you’re not alone in your struggles. There are people who understand and who will listen. I am one of them. I am a master's level clinician, who is a candidate for Ph.D.

Hello and welcome! For over 3 years, I have been intrigued by the resiliency and persistence of the clients that have worked with me. If you have suffered from a traumatic experience, a difficult childhood, or you recognize that you are driven to make choices that do not align with your ideal self, I would be honored to help you silence the limiting thoughts in your head for good. I want to help you find what is stopping you from enjoying your life fully and make changes. I practice what I preach in my personal life, through meditation, family, spirituality, and the most stress reduction comes from practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Lya is a graduate of WVU and has a MSW with a mental health emphasis. She is independently licensed as an LICSW in WV and LISW in OH, and has 28 years of experience as a therapist. She sees clients ages 10 and up for individual and family therapy, and does see younger children on a case by case basis. Her clinical areas of focus are anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief, eating disorders, and ADHD. Additionally, Lya helps bariatric surgery patients both pre- and post-surgery. In her free time, Lya enjoys working with her show horses and her two dogs, Josie and Rudy. You may see Rudy on camera, as he is her assistant!

Together, we will take a look at your thoughts/beliefs, feelings, and behaviors; identify any problematic patterns; and begin to change those patterns to be more useful and constructive. Hi! I'm Erica! Beginning therapy means different things to different people, but it is often an action of courage, hope, self-care, and self-determination. You may or may not have been to a therapist before. If this is your first experience with therapy, you might feel a bit nervous or apprehensive. That's normal! Therapy is a process that allows you the freedom and privacy to discuss issues that are often painful or difficult to discuss with family and/or friends. I believe that in the process of our work together, you can begin to feel more at home within yourself and with your relationships.

I genuinely love people and am so happy to be working in a field where I can aid individuals in achieving their goals and cultivating a life they want for themselves. I understand the challenges of dealing with emotional distress and psychological suffering, and strive to help people overcome challenges they are experiencing with their mental health.

I am a WV native and have been working with children/adolescents/adults for over 17 years. Helping others is my passion. I am an advocate for the families receiving my services. I am a graduate of West Virginia State University with a B.A. in Psychology and Liberty University with an M.A. Professional Counseling. I am trained in EMDR therapy, which is a model of therapy used to treat trauma and other disorders. I am currently taking courses in American Sign Language and hope to eventually offer services to the deaf community.
