Transition to Parenthood Seminar
This group of professional therapists will combine readings on theory, literature, and the latest research concerning the treatment of perinatal women and families. We also incorporate case consultations and presentations. Participants will collaborate on topics and readings based on interests and current client presenting problems. Topics include: Self of the Therapist; Understanding the Impact of Becoming Parents on the Couple; Assessment, Managing Risks, Dealing with Anxiety-Provoking Presentations & Psychotropic Medications; Treating Suffering: Mindfulness-based treatments in clinical work with motherhood; Working with Attachment Themes in Psychotherapy with Perinatal Women and the Mother-Infant Relationship; Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
