I have been a therapist for over 35 years and believe that both individuals and couples can heal from dysfunctional relationships. "Know thyself" is a way in which to learn to cope with stressors that come your way. Understanding the baggage you carry, (we all have baggage), identifying our knee jerk reactions to other people, (rage, anger, fear, withdrawal) allows us to stop REACTING and teaches us to say how we feel in a healthy way. Addictions are our number one killer, and being fearful of expressing how you feel creates co-dependent relationships where much energy is focused on pleasing.
I specialize in individual, couples and group psychotherapy with adults and adolescents. I work with clients who have addictions and codependency. I have worked with infertility issues and adoption. Grief and loss is another speciality where I teach clients how to grieve losses so they can move on with their lives.
My practice is a unique practice. I help clients make life changes providing they have the will and determination. I assign homework after each session including referral to 12 step programs when appropriate. I also offer intensive weekend workshops where work can be completed in a short period of time.
