Starting therapy is an achievement. Addressing avoided topics can be tough. The Carter Psychotherapy Group provides a space for you to engage fully in treatment. Our goal is to create a safe space for individuals and families to access mental health services without barriers. Licensed in Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Maryland, South Carolina, and Virginia, and credentialed with Tricare East Region, we cater to both civilian and military personnel, and EAP Clients. We work at your pace, so let’s get started!
My areas of specialized training are crisis intervention, family systems work, military counseling, and behavior modification with clients diagnosed with comorbid disorders (ex. PTSD and polysubstance dependence). As a former emergency services clinician, I welcome first responders and clients with chronic medical problems.
For the past 20 years, I have strived to assist clients in achieving mental wellness by utilizing strength-based methods. Through assessment of psychosocial and environmental attributes and stressors, clients will receive treatment designed to stabilize mood and enhance overall wellness.
