About
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I earned a Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and French from the University of Southern California. I specialize in treating complex eating disorders and co-occurring conditions in adults, as well as trauma/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma. Previously, I worked as a clinical director at a residential eating disorders treatment center.
I specialize in working with women, couples, and college students. As a Cuban emigrant, I am also particularly sensitive to the unique needs of ethnic minority clients, and can provide therapy in English and Spanish. My previous clients would tell you that I am easy to talk to, engaging, and collaborative.
I won't pretend to have all the answers for you, but I will help you figure out the answers for yourself. I infuse humor into therapy and I'm not afraid to push you or provide honest feedback. So, take the leap, make the call, and let's begin this journey together.
