I use a person-centered, intersectional
feminist
, trauma informed approach to meet you where you're at.
It is my honor to work primarily with LGBTQ clients, especially those exploring their gender identity and looking for an affirming place to celebrate their self-discovery journey. I often work with clients who have experienced religious trauma, intergenerational trauma, sexual trauma, and emotional neglect. Seeking support is hard, so you already have a lot to be proud of! My ongoing goal is to create a practice routed in LGBTQ affirmation, antiracism, antifascism, and radical love for my fellow human.

My clients come from diverse backgrounds but all have one thing in common: they are bound by past traumas that continue to control their present day. My primary theoretical approach is one of interpersonal and holistic psychology that draws from acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic, existential,
feminist
, and multicultural counseling work. I use meditative practice and applied mindfulness as well as a holistic trauma model to allow my clients to find peace within themselves while also equipping them with the skills needed to continue their personal growth after therapy is complete.

Please utilize email, not voicemail, to obtain intake and waitlist information. I am a trauma focused and attachment based therapist who utilizes DBT, EMDR (IFS informed),
feminist
theory, and an acceptance and strengthening approach to treatment. I take great pride in my ability to provide a calm, peaceful, and safe space for my clients to facilitate the process of the actualization of self. Through this approach we are working to increase belief and narrative around one's individual identity, goals, dreams, and values. Thus encouraging clients to process their desired personal and most intimate self work and growth.

I practice from a
feminist

Deciding to go to therapy is not an easy thing to do. Women of color are often told to suck it up, get over it, and be strong. But sometimes, being strong means knowing when to ask for help. Being strong means admitting to ourselves that we can't do it all on our own, and that's okay. Oftentimes, we may not even be able to recognize all the difficult situations we've been through and all the challenges we have come up against. Traumatic experiences in childhood and/or adulthood that we have not had a chance to deal with may now be catching up to us.

I also lean heavily on
feminist
theory, reality theory, and the enneagram, although I change things up to fit each client that I’m working with.
I’m a therapist serving all of Texas. I’m a mom to a pretty bad-ass 12-year-old, a best friend to several gorgeous people, and a partner (I’m polyamorous, and have two partners currently). My friends, family, clients, and partners are the most important things on the planet to me. I have two cats, Rocco & Lilith, who are terrible, and I love them. I am a Health At Every Size provider. Four things that always make me happy: good coffee, The Office, a good eyeshadow palette, and fresh hydrangeas

I enjoy using narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, and solutions focused therapy from a collaborative,
feminist
, and relational approach.
Welcome! I am a believer in living one's life deliberately; however, the day to day commitments, expectations, and challenges sometimes divert us from living the life we want for ourselves and loved ones. Having a fierce advocate to remind you of your strengths, help you navigate challenges, and support you on your journey is why therapists are here. Building a strong healthy relationship with your therapist serves as an incredible catalyst for change in our lives. Building community helps us connect better to ourselves and enrich our everyday existence.

To best help you achieve your goals, I like to collaborate with you using an integrative approach grounded in
feminist
and multicultural understandings of human interaction and behaviour in order to tailor a positive, strengths-oriented, person-centred therapy experience free of judgement, allowing you to be seen and accepted wholly for who you are.
Are you feeling overwhelmed, confused, or lost? Maybe the stresses of work or school, uncertainty in relationships, or struggles with unhelpful behaviours are preventing you from living a fulfilling, authentic life. Sometimes we all need some additional support to understand the many moving pieces in our lives and figure out how to arrange them in a way that is not only manageable, but satisfying and enjoyable. I have a passion for helping LGBTQIA+ folks, young adults, and men from all walks of life facing anxiety, depression, or general dissatisfaction to arrange their life in a way that provides joy, actualisation, and peace.

How can I find a therapist in Texas?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
