In therapy, I utilize systems theories to support you in your environment and draw from Jungian and existential concepts and such as dream and shadow work to support your goals.
First of all, I hope you can recognize how much work you’ve done to get to this place. You’ve made it this far, and that is no small feat. If you're here because you’re ready for change, welcome! At this point you might be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and unsure about the next step. It's common to feel unsure and stuck in negative patterns, but nothing is ever hopeless. Therapy can help with learning to cope with everyday challenges, developing skills for managing stress, and stepping into a more confident and authentic version of yourself.

My approaches include cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, existential, Jungian , strategic, archetypal, and narrative.
Depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loss and grief, mid-life crisis, disappointment and stagnation are only a few of the reasons an individual seeks counseling. My therapeutic approach in working with an individual is to explore the meaning of life-altering events and to bring understanding and enduring ways to cope. I focus on strengths in the individual and work in a warm, non-judgmental way that feels safe. My role is to provide empathic listening and support while acting as a guide in removing the barriers and patterns that have developed over a lifetime.

Feeling stuck, angry, depressed, or confused? Are you fed up, with yourself, your partner, or family members? Are you struggling financially? Are looking for a different career? Are your struggling with school or college? Do you have feelings and thoughts that you do not understand, and don't feel comfortable talking to friends or family about? These are common experiences for many people in our complicated society. Sometimes people "act out", fall into addictions, just shut down, or make bad decisions. They want change, but are not sure how. That's when counseling can really help.

As a Jungian Analyst I am especially aware of the importance of each person's inner resources in coping with various life transitions.
In over 20 years of private practice, I have developed a way of working with people that focuses on their unique individual experiences and strengths. My focus is on helping each person understand their issues, develop insight into difficult situations and discover the inner resources and skills to develop more meaningful and fulfilling lives. I believe through therapy anyone can come to understand self defeating behavior patterns that prevent personal fulfillment and meaningful relationships. I have learned that each of us has the capacity to heal and grow beyond painful life experiences that limit us emotionally and spiritually.

To help understand and navigate the healing process, I draw upon psychodynamic/analytic, existential-humanistic, Jungian , experiential, ego-state, cognitive-behavioral, transpersonal, and trauma-informed orientations.
Whether one seeks relief from anxiety, trauma, relational impasses, or life disillusionment, therapy can help. It is unfortunate that insufficiently engaged approaches to therapy, prohibitive rates, and the unconscionable reluctance of most clinicians to accept insurance fail so many clients, who in good faith seek to discover a healing of heart and mind. As a psychodynamic therapist, I view my role as an empathic change agent employed to help bring about a fuller knowledge of self and a more liberated experience of life and relationship. I also supervise highly promising interns from NWU available for as low as $15-30 per session.

As a Jungian Analyst, I am a strong advocate for the innate strengths and capacities of my clients.
The need for help is a deep instinct that dwells in each of us. There are times in our lives when we face challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, trapped, frustrated, confused, depressed, or anxious. When we reach this point, it is natural to look for direction and support from the people and world around us. If you are feeling at a loss, afraid or frustrated, or if you are struggling with a difficult change in your life, psychotherapy can help move you toward a greater sense of well-being and empowerment.

Sometimes life robs us of our light. It can happen gradually or suddenly. We might not even know why the light is gone, only that it’s not there anymore. My goal is to enable you to search for and take hold of that light. I work primarily with depression and anxiety as well as spirituality, processing trauma, and family dynamics. I specialize in adolescents and young adults transitioning into new life stages, and adults of all ages who feel stuck in life.

I work from an attachment, trauma and depth or Jungian based psychological model.
I believe there comes a time in everyone's life when we will feel lost, disconnected or hopeless. We sometimes lose our ability to deal with life's challenges. This inability to deal with life's challenges can be frightening, confusing and problematic. What is needed at such moments in our life is an attuned and trusted other. Someone who can believe in us when we can't believe in ourselves. It is in this kind of therapeutic relationship where old wounds are healed and we learn to trust, manage our emotions and reconnect to our wise and true self.

Jungian Analysis is a more in depth form of psychotherapy that uses dreams and other creative processes to touch into what is just underneath the surface of consciousness.
Analysis and therapy help us move beyond the places we are stuck to a better understanding of who we are. I would be honored to walk with you on this journey towards your best self, offering a helping hand where needed. I work from an understanding of therapy that allows us to look at the past, the present and the future in understanding the issues you are facing and finding the path you desire to follow. Exploring family dynamics, relationship issues, self-concept, creative impulses, dreams, and life passions allow us to chart a course toward hope and healing.

How can I find a therapist in Texas?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
