I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. I hold several graduate degrees including an Ed.S. in School Psychology, M.Ed. in School Psychometry, M.Ed. in School Counseling, and M.Ed. in Special Education.

I’m only taking clients who need evaluations - not therapy at this time, but I firmly believe that everyone could use some therapeutic intervention at some point in their life & these skills should be applied in every area of our lives. For that reason, I often ask that my clients practice our skills in between sessions. It is difficult to use therapeutic skills when we need them if we do not practice them when we are calm & levelheaded. I give transparency and honesty to my clients, and I expect it in return.

I have worked with children and families for over twenty-five years and I never cease to be amazed at their resiliency. What I have learned is that children do cope with life struggles, but increasing the likelihood that they develop positive coping skills often depends on the support that surrounds them. Working with children and adults to recognize their own strengths and to learn new strategies for success remains a focus of my practice.

Most people have been unsuccessful when they tried to change problematic behavior. I help you trouble shoot roadblocks and find more effective ways to success. I start with an intake interview to better understand your experiences, what has been helpful in the past, what has not been helpful in the past, and what may be most helpful in the future. I conduct motivational interviews to discover more about your readiness for change. Then, I meet you where you are in order to increase the likelihood of your success. I incorporate evidenced-based treatment protocols into your plan and evaluate progress on an on-going basis.

As a therapist I have worked with individuals, couples, and family units on problems such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other issues that cause distress and disruption in lives. I am trauma informed and trained in EMDR and have finished the Gottman Level 1 training for couples. My hope is to help you work through the problems step by step and to build on your strengths and abilities to move forward.

Our first relationships are the foundation on which we build all future relationships. If our foundation is shaking, unreliable, or scary we develop a sense of disconnectedness or that we are in some way lacking. This feeling of vulnerability leads us to act in ways we don’t understand. Some may find themselves being overly clingy/controlling for fear that they may be left alone. Some have self-doubt leading to Anxiety, Depression, or addiction. While others shut themselves off from the world to protect themselves. We all have needs and it’s okay to have them met but how we do that can be more destructive than helpful.
