Hello! My name is Amber Burnett, but most clients call me Dr. B. I am a licensed psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I have 20 years of experience working with people from all backgrounds. I work with a wide range of concerns for both children and adults, but a few examples are anxiety/depression, trauma/abuse, ADHD, autism, mood disorders, women's issues, relationship concerns, social anxiety, grief, self esteem, parenting and life changes.

I am a licensed psychologist and avid yogi who is excited to practice in a setting that embraces the mind-body connection. I strive to create a safe and empowering environment in which you and I work towards making changes that will bring you closer to a satisfying and fulfilling life. I use a strengths-based, collaborative approach to help each client feel empowered, develop insight and improve quality of life. ​I enjoy working with a variety of clients and needs. I prefer to view the therapy relationship as collaborative and egalitarian.

I work primarily with children, teenagers, and young adults (college students) who struggle with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, developmental disorders (such as Autism), ADHD, PTSD, OCD, eating disorders, and general stress due to life transitions. I have experience working with victims of abuse, and with foster children. I also work with parents who are struggling with their children due to significant behavior or emotional difficulties. I have worked in several settings including psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment facilities, schools, community mental health, and in private practice.

Accepting new therapy clients for Fall 2023! I enjoy meeting with high school/college/graduate students and professionals who want to live life with authenticy, courage, and purpose and who are seeking ways to recharge and reconnect to themselves. Although experiences of life, including trauma, anxiety, or depression as well as changes or expansions of our responsibilities may impact how we think, feel, and behave these life experiences, while overwhelming at times, can also lead to the greatest growth, discovery, and reclaiming confidence and perhaps above all discovering that life is truly meaningful even while imperfect.

I meet my clients where they are at emotionally & try provide guidance at any stage of change they are at. I can keep it very formal & clinical but I consider myself more of a guide/coach to help you navigate all of your "life stuff" including work, family, relationships, depression, anxiety, ADHD & other common diagnoses. I spent 8 years fully specializing in all things LGBTQ+ including identity & gender affirming letters/assessments for HRT & Surgical Interventions. Over the past 3 years I've also ventured into spirituality & have been integrating this into my coaching practices by exploring non-traditional treatment modalities.
