Welcome! I offer services primarily related to assessment and consultation for children and adults. Evaluations are comprehensive with a focus on various domains of functioning including intellectual, academic, executive functioning, attention, and mood/personality to best understand strengths and areas for improvement. Evaluations are provided for diagnosis of ADHD, Autism, and other neurodevelopmental conditions using evidence-based instruments. Additional areas of testing include learning problems/disabilities, admissions testing, college accommodations, and memory and cognitive decline.

The Meltzer Center provides a variety of low fee assessment and therapy mental health services to individuals within the Washington, DC metro area. We are located at George Washington University, near the Foggy Bottom metro. We offer evidence-based individual, family, group (see below for current group description), and couples therapy (CBT, etc.) to address a wide variety of psychological problems, relationship issues, and personal concerns.

If you are struggling to cope with stress and anxiety from past or ongoing difficulties (such as school/work stress, friendship/relationship problems, bullying, or family dynamics), I can help you process and problem-solve your experiences and offer a path forward. This includes learning coping skills and interpersonal effectiveness, as well as examining thought and behavior patterns. I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients to help them be the best version of themselves by helping them to identify their goals and to leverage their strengths to meet those goals.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in assessment for children and adolescents. I conduct independent school admissions testing, as well as more comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess for learning disorders, ADHD, and developmental delay. The goal of my evaluations is to identify my client's learning style and understand the individual as a whole person. I strive to provide feedback that is thorough, objective, well-reasoned, and understandable. My written reports include straightforward results and practical, solution-focused recommendations for parents and teachers. These reports are often used for educational planning and to request academic support and accommodations.

Welcome! I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the DMV and currently offering therapy and evaluation services out of my office in Downtown DC/Penn Quarter area and virtually. I provide individual psychotherapy with a strong skill-set in trauma-informed care for adolescents, young adults, adults, and women of color. I draw from my background in cognitive-behavioral skills training, family systems, and relational-cultural therapy. My approach is best described as warm, direct, and collaborative. Psychological evaluations are my area of expertise and passion. My goal when conducting assessments is to identify an individual’s areas of strength and weakness in order to provide recommendations for treatment, work and/or school, interpersonal relationships, and daily living. In the context of assessments, I can provide diagnoses and second opinions. A diagnosis is only one aspect of the process, however, and I emphasize understanding underlying cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal processes, and how these combine and manifest in daily life.

I have over 20 years of experience in the field of clinical psychology, providing both psychological evaluation and therapy services. My areas of focus include identifying clinical and educational related concerns through evaluation as well as using cognitive behavioral methods to treat a wide range of concerns. My therapy clients often request services for depression, anxiety, school and work related issues, and coping with day to day stress.

I perform neuropsychological and psychological evaluations that integrate various cognitive and emotional traits into a personalized and thorough evaluation. I regularly perform forensic neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for the court system. As a board certified neuropsychologist, I often perform cognitive testing to assess skills such as intelligence, attention, processing speed, executive functioning, language, and memory.

Dr. Vianca Escudero specializes in working with kids, parents and families to learn more effective ways of relating to each other. She offers services in Spanish. Dr. Jack Baker works with teens and young adults on a variety of issues, specializing in LGBTQ+ issues. Dr. Paige Victorine works with adults and couples, specializing in complex trauma, anxiety and perfectionism, and chronic health-related concerns. We offer comprehensive assessment services to support greater diagnostic clarity from an affirming lens.
