All psychologists at Summit are dual-licensed clinical psychologists and school psychologists who specialize in evaluating and supporting children and young people.

I have over 20 years of clinical experience. I am a former military psychologist and military wife. I have experience with deployment issues, military sexual trauma, re-integration issues, special duty clearances, and other related stressors and trauma. I understand the sensitivity of special clearances. I have a significant amount of experience in psychological testing and neuropsychological screening, to help with accurate diagnosing and for treatment planning. I approach problems using a biopsychosocial model to address possible causes and the maintenance of those problems.

I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology - Trauma emphasis from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I specialize in PTSD and trauma, anxiety, and attachment/relationships. Clinical treatment experience includes the Veterans Health Trauma Clinic, Colorado Springs VA Medical Center, Iron Horse Family Medicine Clinic on Fort Carson, and AspenPointe/Diversus Health. In addition to this training, I am a combat veteran spouse, mother, stepmother, and disaster responder, allowing me to merge evidence-based practice with a “field-based” and realistic approach to mental health.

Dr. Patrice Werling is a licensed psychologist and Colorado native. She obtained her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. Dr. Werling has training and experience in evidence-based therapy working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and trauma, as well as people navigating life transitions, relationship concerns, and chronic health conditions. She has worked in community mental health centers, schools, and inpatient hospital services for clients of all ages with a special emphasis on trauma-informed treatments.
