My treatment approach is based on over 10 years of providing testing and treatment services. In every case, my primary treatment goal is to help my clients develop the necessary skills--both thinking and behaving-- to improve their health, academic performance, day-to-day functioning and sense of well-being and self-efficacy. I do not fix my clients but focus all my efforts toward helping them to fix or better manage their problems themselves. This is done through fostering client strengths.

I have been in practice for 30 years in the Houston area. My specialty is Educatonal Psychology, with a specialization in the assessment of children, adolescents and young adults. I have helped many students become aware of their ability and plan for their educational future.

I work with children, adolescents and adults on a variety of issues. Most of my work is based on the principles of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My therapy plans are goal-oriented, with specific, measurable steps so that you can track progress. I will help you discover the "problem behind the problem" and then we'll work together to formulate solutions. I enjoy collaborating with my patients on many types of issues, but have quite a bit of extra training in working with children with ADHD and their parents, as well as with persons with Asperger's-type autism.

My area of specialization focuses on looking at problems in relationships through the lens of one's own attachment history to try to understand why one feels and responds in current relationships in ways that are not productive. I also specialize in working with children to help them learn to emotionally regulate themselves so that they are able to function in a variety of social and educational situations. My work with parents helps them come to better understand their child as a unique person so as parents they can feel effective & have a close relationship with their child.
