My ideal client is someone that is willing to be vulnerable. Therapy should not keep you in your comfort zone. Success in therapy requires willingness to challenge yourself to think and feel differently. More importantly, I need you to be open and honest with me. Tell me when I get it wrong.Tell me when you want to work on something else. Tell me how I can be more supportive when you feel like our sessions are a bore or you aren't getting anything out of them.
I have worked in the mental health and addiction recovery field since 2018. During this time, I have had the honor of working with individuals as young as 12 who are figuring out who they are, all the way to individuals needing support and peace as they near the end of life. I have experience working with clients in group.
Some evidence-based practices that I utilize with clients are: Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Parts Work Therapy, Seeking Safety, and 7 Challenges.
