Life is not meant to journey alone. After 36 years of working in mental health, I have come to realize that compassion, understanding, guidance and acceptance are the keys to a successful therapeutic relationship. I have worked with clients experiencing many different challenges - trauma, sexual abuse, life transitions, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, marriage issues, isolation and loneliness and chronic physical conditions. Whatever you are currently experiencing, I will seek to support you, serve and guide you on your unique path to healing and awareness.
I utilize a variety of techniques and modalities (one of the benefits of longevity!). My approach is holistic in nature - utilizing mindfulness, somatic and spirituality in psychotherapy along with other best-practice techniques. I specialize in trauma recovery. I am fluent in American sign language and love working with Deaf clients and CODAS.
The Japanese art form, 'kintsugi', is a process where broken pieces of pottery are put back together with gold. I love this metaphor for our life's journey. By learning from our mistakes, our challenges, our times of perceived 'brokenness', we can continually recreate ourselves into our own personal best and reach for our Greatest Good.
