My name is Terrill McKnight, LCPC, CCATP, certified in treating anxiety disorders. I use a cognitive approach as well as internal Family Systems within my therapy sessions. I use internal family systems to help you connect with what you care about, build self-compassion, and uncover your worries. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking to understand the underlying reasons for their behaviors and to discover how they can cultivate a healthy, happy life. They often grapple with stressors from various aspects of their lives—be it work, school, or home—and they’re eager to learn effective strategies for managing these challenges.
I firmly believe that therapy is most effective when clients bring their authentic selves to the process. To facilitate this, I strive to create a welcoming and safe environment where individuals can express their truths without fear of judgment.
I often introduce the SMART criteria—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This framework helps clients articulate their goals clearly and set them up for success.
