My dad joined the Navy after Pearl Harbor was bombed. He was 17. His mother had to sign a form giving permission for him to go. He became a C.B. and drove a dozer to clear islands and build runways from Hawaii to Okinawa. He spent 4 years in the Pacific. His company was ambushed on several islands while they were building the runways and refueling stations. I grew up listening to his stories. A country boy in a foreign world, driving a dozer while wielding a weapon. He struggled with alcoholism his whole life. He passed away when he was 57.
My work focuses on trauma-informed care for adults dealing with PTSD, childhood trauma, grief, and life challenges related to chronic illness or stress. Together we work to understand how past experiences affect the present while building practical coping skills that support emotional healing and resilience.
