In my clinical work, I view the relationship between patient and therapist as central to treatment. The need for trust, privacy, safety, and non-judgmental acceptance is fundamental to the success of treatment. My theoretical orientation is psychodynamic or psychoanalytic, though I rely on an eclectic range of ideas for understanding each person. Patients experience my approach as insight-oriented, dynamic, and interactive.

Therapy begins with our exploration of your current issues, and proceeds with an examination of important, and sometimes painful aspects of life history from childhood up to the present, as background and context for the current situation. Personal strengths and accomplishments are given equal weight in understanding the whole person.
