Every person's experience in therapy is unique. I know that my 20+ years of experience, the ongoing training I consistently pursue and the areas in which I have particular expertise are important factors to the people who come to see me. I create a safe and compassionate environment so individuals and couples can freely express their questions and needs. Beyond those critical pieces, I believe that the success of the therapy will rest on our ability to work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.
My areas of specialty include GLBTQ individuals; recovery from trauma; and aftermath of suicide for family and significant others. I also enjoy working with couples of all configurations i.e.; gay, straight, transgender, polyamorous. I am a trained DBT individual therapist, though not currently accepting new Level I DBT clients.
Over the years I have worked with a very wide range of clients treating depression, anxiety, loss, shame and many challenges each of us may encounter and which can stop us in our tracks. I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and that hope can be re-discovered.
