In a way, life is a puzzle. With many pieces to choose from, we try to find those pieces that fit smoothly together. However, life becomes troubling when what we have chosen doesn't fit and the same problems seem to occur in one situation after another, making life seem even more frustrating and confusing. I am trained as both an artist and a psychotherapist and work in a collaborative style. After 20 years of experience, I bring a little humor and grace while learning to think creatively to move through the maze of life, it is an exciting possibility.

I will listen closely to things you say to help you understand why life seems so difficult. We are often unaware of the factors that influence our behaviors. Together we will think about your most distressing concerns and also wonder if you may be unwittingly contributing to your ongoing dilemmas.

Parents worry when they know something is wrong with their child. Children do not have the language skills to express their worries; they struggle to cope and suffer. Whether your child is struggling with divorce or other troubles, together we can help your child feel happier more of the time.

Preparing the Field for Play Therapy

Preparing the Field for Play: Working Analytically with Children, Adolescents and their Parents is a consultation group to discuss in depth how to organize the initial phase of treatment. Together we will explore the ways of conceptualizing the nature of a child, adolescent or family's problems. Discussion will focus on the critical aspects of working with this population and ways of establishing the frame. We will also address various transference configurations that evoke primitive states in each member in the field which, in turn, can prohibit progressive development.

New Skills and Choices

New Skills and Choices program is for parents in high conflict over the custody and visitation of their children Classes focus on co-parenting as a separated family, increased communication and reduction of conflict, improved responsiveness to their children's questions/concerns, and awareness of the effects of their conflict on children. Co-Parenting Counseling services are available to families who have custody/visitation court orders in place. The goals of the sessions are to help parents manage visitation and parenting conflicts and to maintain court ordered schedules. The focus is a safe and secure environment for their children.
