I believe that empathy and honesty are the foundation of the therapeutic process. I am a trauma-informed therapist with genuine warmth and compassion. My specialty is trauma and its effect on relationships. Life is complicated and people don’t belong in boxes, so I use a multi-faceted approach integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS)—which if you’ve heard of parts-work or seen Inside Out you will relate to, Accelerated Reprocessing Therapy (ART) which is a creative, image-based treatment similar to EMDR, and Lifespan Integration for individuals and emotionally-focused, attachment-based techniques for couples.
I have experience working with PTSD, grief/loss, divorce, and faith transitions. I have specialized training in Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR) therapy for PTSD, the Gottman approach to couples counseling and the Smart Stepfamily method for blended families.
My goal for my clients is to guide them through self-awareness and acceptance to empowerment. I believe that your relationship with yourself is vital to well-lived life.
