I am an EMDR therapist, who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults of all ages overcome the challenges of life, no matter how big or small. As a military spouse of 10 years, I have lived and raised a family in the US and internationally. I empathize with the many challenges of raising a family in chaotic times. I also understand the pressures a small business can bring, as I formerly owned and operated several businesses, employing as many as 30 people. I am a proud wife and a mother of three, having been married for almost 30 years. I know life is busy and chaotic.
When working with children or adolescents, I often use play therapy, sand tray therapy, or EMDR. When working with adults, trust is vital. I look at the person as a whole rather than treating symptoms. I often use EMDR, trauma-informed cognitive behavioral, cognitive processing, internal family systems, and narrative therapy.
No two people are the same, so my desire is to meet each person where they are on their journey. Making the choice to come to counseling is not always easy, and I want each person to feel that choice has been recognized once inside my office. Life gets messy very quickly, and my heart is in helping people. I can also integrate Christianity or spirituality.
