I am a Latinx, bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 15 years of experience providing holistic and client-centered counseling services to individuals, families, couples, adolescents, and members of the Latinx and LGBTQ+ community. I have been living in the U.S. for half of my life and understand the dynamics of Latinx living here from personal experience and education. I understand teens and young adults need to find their cultural identity “I feel that I am not from here and I am not from there.” I have worked in a community environment where I focused on empowering clients to resume enjoying a fulfilled life.
I foster a climate free of judgment where clients feel safe and secure when sharing their life stories. It is important for me that the client feels comfortable and safe so I make sure to provide empathy, compassion, and understanding throughout the client's healing process.
In collaboration with the client, we discuss what's the best approach to use for their psychotherapy treatment. During the first session, the client should expect to be listened to, to be understood, to be acknowledged and appreciated as well as to instill hope.
