My name is Teresa Maguire, and I have been a psychotherapist (LCSW-R) for 25 years. I work primarily with adults dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, gender identity concerns, relationship problems, and LGBTQ issues. I work mainly from a psychodynamic and relational model, utilizing Attachment-based, Eclectic, Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, and Trauma Focused therapies. I believe those therapeutic relationships are the most important vehicle for facilitating positive change and growth.
I work to create a safe and caring environment where you can feel heard and validated. You will set the pace of the work, and I will meet you where you are. You should feel comfortable bringing your true self to sessions without fearing judgment. All your feelings are welcome and will be examined/explored together.
During the first session, you should expect to be put at ease, to be able to express yourself to whatever extent you are comfortable.
