About
In our current, local and National climate, we know that people are experiencing stress, anxiety, and trauma now more than ever. My greatest passion is bringing understanding and healing to children and families who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience or struggle with mental health challenges. Consultation is also an instrument that I use to help parents and educators uncover strategies to shift behavior and improve family and classroom dynamics. I am also trained in psychological and psychoeducational assessment to evaluate areas of strengths and challenges for diagnostic consultation and educational planning.
Given that people of color are less likely to seek psychological help due to the stigma and shame often associated with mental health concerns, as well as a distrust of the system, I attempt to approach therapy from my clients’ cultural worldview. To be interactive, collaborative, genuine and accepting.
I aim to inspire my clients to be active agents in their own success. To transform maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors while considering cultural and environmental challenges, and the uniqueness of each client’s situation. I am eager to bring an effective blend of experience, expertise, and clarity to the individuals that I serve, Let’s get to work!
