The willingness to seek help is a brave step forward into making some sense out of life’s messiness and challenges. Looking deeper at issues, working on ourselves and seeking support from others can be scary and feel vulnerable, even but it can also be a beneficial step towards healing. I believe we all have an ability within ourselves to heal but sometimes we need the support and guidance from others. As a Counselor, I am here to support you and provide you with the clinical care and guidance you need to move through these challenges and to take the steps to improve your wellbeing.
My approach is collaborative and relational in that I will be curious, ask reflective questions, listen without judgment and respond with empathy. I work from a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens. My theoretical base includes: Person Centered, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness.
I have experience treating PTSD, depression, anxiety, relational struggles, mood dysregulation, and substance abuse treatment. I am passionate about providing holistic and individualistic care - striving to provide a growth mindset around issues of social justice, advocacy and culturally competent care, as a counselor and as an ally.
