Therapy is an opportunity to know ourselves better. Through my work with clients, I tailor my approach to meet each client where they are. Henry David Thoreau wrote, "What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us." It is my goal to help my clients find "what lives within" them to help them live a more fulfilling life.
My education has prepared me to work with a variety of clients with varying presenting problems. My most-used approach is psychodynamic psychotherapy, coupled with the principles of person-centered therapy. I draw upon cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT), humanistic psychology, & mindfulness theories in my work. I also use a social justice framework.
