I often notice when we finally take the time to catch a breath we tend to bring awareness to just how shallow our breathing actually is. Life moves fast and it doesn’t slow down even when we need it the most; it's easy to slip into survival mode. As a therapist it is my goal to not only guide my clients out of survival mode but help them find a way back to thriving and connection. While I honor the survival skills that got you here, it may be time to consider the possibility of healing. Whether it is PTSD or complex trauma, sports/performance blocks, attachment wounds, depression, anxiety, or birth trauma, I am honored to help.
My approach always starts person centered to meet my clients exactly where they are, then influenced by CBT, DBT, IFS, and narrative therapy. I utilize Polyvagal theory to further understand the role our nervous system plays in healing. I practice this perspective by incorporating somatic exercises, healing through movement, and EMDR.
