My goal is to see to it that by the end of therapy you leave with a whole range of new insights, skills, and confidence leading you to a more fulfilled and comfortable life. Therapy is an investment in the quality of your life. I believe it should result in valuable new ways to be with yourself and others. I help people who feel stuck, lost, and overwhelmed, or are having difficulties with relationships or harmful patterns of behavior. I'm predominantly existential, relational, and humanistic and teach a mindfulness-like process. My clients feel supported and heard, but also learn effective tools toward building the life they want.
I help couples and individuals gain the skills to effectively communicate their needs, to feel more emotionally connected to others, and to be less reactive. With my mindfulness approach, I help people to increase their tolerance of discomfort, and to address symptoms of anxiety and unwanted habits such as emotional eating, substance, and digital use.
If your search for help has been long, consider taking advantage of my free 20 minute consultation. I take seriously your goal to meet with someone who gets you. If we don't feel we're a good fit, I'll provide you referrals for others I think might be a good match. If we decide to work together, we can immediately start imagining a path with which to walk.

Mastering the Moment: Mindfully Addressing Habits
Mastering the Moment is an 8-week online series exploring a mindfulness approach to unwanted habits. Changing your relationship to unwanted habits using a mindfulness-like approach by exploring the circumstances, emotional triggers, and behaviors around your habit; creating a way to pause after being triggered; addressing your needs underlying the habit; increasing your tolerance of discomfort; and expanding the moment between being triggered and acting. Although Tara Breitenbucher is a therapist, this is not a therapy group and she will be acting as a group facilitator and not a therapist in leading this group.
