I specialize in treating OCD, and related disorders such as hair pulling, skin picking, and anxiety. An ambush of unwanted thoughts or behaviors on repeat that continue to interfere with living an enjoyable life. Fortunately, there is hope! With various researched based methods, the cycle can be broken and managed. I also have a special interest in grief. My experience in hospice has given me great compassion for those experiencing or expecting loss. With grief, there can be feelings that appear to be in direct conflict with each other. Acceptance can feel like a betrayal. Guilt might sit next to relief.
I recognize that grief can occur in a variety of circumstances unrelated to death, such as divorce, infertility, chronic illness, and loss of a job. This grief is underrecognized, but also significant. Grief tends to evolve rather than disappear. I'm prepared to walk that road with you.
I am also committed to helping others navigate spirituality and religious concerns. These concerns commonly occur with anxiety, OCD, and in the case of faith transitions grief is often present. I utilize evidence based practices including ERP, ICBT, and ACT to treat OCD and a blend of CBT, DBT and ACT skills for other needs.
