I approach therapy from a systems perspective. I work with indiv/couples/fam from various cultural frameworks, especially those from black/brown communities, to manage life's stressors in context with the dynamic roles they possess in life. I believe that problems occur when an individual experiences disruptions to their norms resulting in cognitive distortions that impact their overall well-being. I work to help indiv/couples/fam process their emotions and develop healthy strategies to improve their functioning, while supporting them as they navigate the various systems in which they belong (e.g. family, career, interpersonal).
I specialize in supporting individuals, couples and families who have a variety of behavioral and emotional concerns that impact their ability to effectively engage with the world around them. These include anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal and family concerns. I possess specialized training in assessment and diagnosis of ADHD, ASD other concerns.
I view client concerns within a socio-cultural framework and provide culturally informed treatment. I take a collaborative approach and strive to create a safe non-judgmental environment where you can comfortable unpack your concerns and heal.
