I specialize in trauma, PTSD, MST, survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence as well as anxiety. I believe that clients are capable of overcoming their struggles when given the opportunity in a safe, supportive space. I facilitate this process using DBT therapy as well as solution focused, person centered and strength based approaches. I partner with horses and in this hands-on, experiential approach to your therapy you will have the opportunity to try new skills and behaviors by participating in activities with horses. No horse experience necessary! I also have group integrative wellness programs funded by grants.
Equine Facilitated Mental Health can be successful when traditional talk therapy is not effective. The treatment is not Therapeutic Riding, but it is groundwork with the horse facilitated by licensed therapist that is trauma trained & highly credentialed in incorporating horses into clinical therapy. Therapy is relational & works with trust & connection.
A focus on DBT skills as well as building relationship, connection, problem solving, grounding and communication skills. Plenty of practice for assertiveness, setting healthy boundaries, being in the moment and reducing anxiety. You will learn & practice new behaviors and perspectives in a safe, supportive setting with the horses. I see clients in person.
