Welcome! I am a Child and Family therapist who works with children ages 3-18 on the Upper West Side. Seeking therapy for your child and family can be a tough decision to make. It's hard to watch your child go through hardship and not be able to help them. My goal is to support your family in working through these hard times in a safe and compassionate environment. I honor your values and your needs and truly spend time getting know your family to be able to support you in creating and sustaining positive change. My ultimate goal for your family is not only healing but setting you up to thrive as you move past therapy.

I specialize in trauma, including abuse, neglect and attachment-disruptions, anxiety, ADHD, school-related issues, parenting struggles, low self-esteem, self-identify, behavior concerns, and family conflict. I offer individual, group and family therapy sessions. I use a variety of therapy modalities including EMDR, CBT, Play, DBT, and Somatic Therapy.

My work is built on the foundation of trust, support, empathy and unconditional positive regard. Each client is treated as an individual and with respect. Making the call for therapy can feel scary and I meet all clients with compassion, understanding and support. Please visit my website for more information!

Tami Sasson's Groups

Emotion and Behavior Regulation

Is your child struggling to manage his/her emotions and behaviors? Are you often trying to manage big tantrums and behavioral outbursts? This group is designed to support your child in learning how to manage their emotional and behavioral responses. This group will cover how to identify and cope with different emotions. Parents will be involved through getting a handout at the end of each group with strategies and will meet with the therapist for 10 minutes at the end of 3 different group sessions to go over strategies, answer questions and problem solve! Contact me for more info!
