Hi! My name is Tami, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am passionate about supporting children and families to grow together and helping individuals through life's challenges. My approach to therapy is client-centered and collaborative. I will always meet you, my clients with kindness, empathy, and openness. You are the expert in your life, and my role is to help you get to your goals or where you want to be. We will work together on identifying treatment and priorities.
I gravitate towards cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as it is an evidence-based intervention proven to treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, phobias, and more. I also find it to be useful in day-to-day situations! Practicing CBT helps us be aware of our thoughts and how it influences how we feel and act.
I also utilize play therapy, especially with children. It is through play that children learn about themselves and the world. It is also through play that children learn to express their feelings and socialize with others. I specialize in working with children and youth, but I enjoy working with all individuals in various stages of their lives!
