Hello, I’m Tamar, an anti-racist, queer, fat/body positive therapist working with clients toward healthy and joyful outcomes. I respect and enjoy working within my clients' religious/cultural frameworks and have ample experience working with complex trauma, minority stress, spiritual crisis/growth, intercultural relationships, LGBTQIA2S+, CNM/polyam and kinky clients. My therapeutic practice is grounded in the belief that healing and growth are for everyone, and my tent is a big one- I welcome individuals from all identities, backgrounds, and walks of life to explore their unique journeys in a safe and supportive space.
I am a licensed professional counselor, an AASECT certified sex therapist, and a studied tender of grief. I'm extensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which I find useful when working with Highly Sensitive People (HSP). My orientation as a therapist is strengths- and values- based, honest and direct, and always non-judgmental.
I feel most drawn to working in the deepest depths beside my clients, balanced with behavioral approaches toward concrete change and grounded in relational neuroscience.
