About
While I have extensive experience treating adults and adolescents of all ages, many patients I see in my practice are in their 20’s-40's. Often they have experienced significant trauma in their lives that has resulted in intense feelings of depression and anxiety. There often is disruption and disappointment in relationships. This work can be challenging in ways we cannot always predict, so it is important that the therapist and patient together create a safe space that supports increasing awareness. I believe this can only be achieved when people are making progress in real-time towards more fulfilling lives.
I provide straight-forward, psychodynamic insight-oriented talk therapy to adults of all ages. A small section of my practice is reserved for the treatment of teenagers/adolescents whose needs are different from those of adults. Your story is unique, as will be your therapy experience. Mindfulness and some behavioral techniques may be used as needed.
Because much can be learned in an initial contact, both for the individual and the therapist, I suggest a brief conversation prior to scheduling a first session. In addition to in-person in NYC, I offer virtual sessions with individuals whose professional commitments, disabilities, or location, make it difficult to arrange consistent in-person meetings.
