I was a middle school counselor for over 30 years until my retirement in 2018. During that time I began working in a private setting and have expanded my expertise to address a variety of issues that we are challenged with as individuals, couples, and families. I am known and respected for my in depth work with adolescents and young adults as well as adults and families. Areas of focus include trauma, parenting, relationship recovery, self-esteem, behavioral and stress management and other life transitions. I have expanded my counseling endeavors to include athletic and career mindset.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and suicide intervention. My personal experience along with specialized training gives me a unique perspective in working with those that have experienced trauma and are in suicidal crisis. I have been recognized in my community for my leadership and advocacy in this area.
Since the loss of my brother to suicide over 20 years ago, I continue to honor his memory by helping as many in need to guide them to find peace. I have also been blessed to have a close knit family and a proud mom of 3 talented children. I have learned so much from them and feel honored to use these lessons to enhance my skills in my private practice.
