Welcome! I'm Sylvia Lawson-Cook, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. With over 25 years of experience, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and heal from trauma. I am part of the LGBTQIA+ community and have lived experience with trauma, which allows me to connect deeply with my clients.
I specialize in working with people of all ages, from late adolescence to late adulthood, who struggle with: • Adjusting to life after trauma, including but not limited to acute, chronic, or complex trauma • Finding or accepting their identity • Relationship issues, including ethical nonmonogamy, open relationships, and kink • Members of the LGBTQ+ community
I help by listening to understand. You are always the expert on you, and I am here to guide you and be a part of your healing journey. In our first few sessions, you can expect a lot of questions as we go through the assessment and treatment planning phase. Sessions are more relaxed following this. My job is to offer a safe space for you to be vulnerable.
